Confirmation
Confirmation brings Catholics a deepening of baptismal grace and unites us more firmly to Christ. It increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit and like baptism, leaves an indelible mark on the soul.

Confirmation Preparation
High School Confirmation candidates must:
- present proof of his or her Baptism or Profession of Faith in the Catholic Church
- be currently enrolled in at least the tenth grade and be at least 15 years of age
- be a registered parishioner at St. John the Apostle
Preparation:
All instruction that pertains to Confirmation preparation takes place through the candidates home parish. Those enrolled in public school, private school, home school or Catholic school must prepare for Confirmation in the program of their home parish.This includes (2025-2026 Confirmation schedule-coming soon):
- Parent/High School candidate meeting
- 6 High School candidate sessions
- Confirmation retreat
- Confirmation liturgy rehearsal
- Confirmation liturgy
Registration
Family MUST be registered in the Parish before enrolling in our Confirmation Preparation Program. Parish Registration forms can be found here.
Forms to submit for registration:
- Parish Registration Form (if not already registered at St. John)
- Confirmation Registration (online or printed)
Forms submitted after candidate sessions begin:
- Baptismal Record with First Communion notations (if teen has not received Baptism OR First Communion at St. John)
- Sponsor Attestation Form
Fee and Payment Options: $60/per teen
Payment can be made by:
Online with Credit card or PayPal
Check (made out to SJA Parish)
Exact Cash submitted to the Parish Office

Adult Confirmation
Adults who were never confirmed are encouraged to partake of this sacrament. We invite you to enter the short process of preparation at St. John the Apostle Church. The preparation session is offered in the Spring. Please contact, John Domingo, our Director of Religious Education (757.426.2180 or [email protected]) with questions or for additional information.
